Booking a Court

BTC Court Reservation Process

1.   Courts 1, 2, and 3 book on the hour (8:00 am to 10:00 pm).

Courts 5, 6 and 7 book on the half hour (8:30 am to 9:30 pm).

Court 4 - Teaching court - Club Pro Charles Gembes has priority.  Members can only use this court if Charles isn't using it and there are no lessons scheduled.

Play is for 55 minutes.  Place your BTC tag (one hook for each player) on the “Playing” board for the court # you are playing on at the start of your booking.

2.   If no courts are available when you arrive please put your BTC tag on the “Waiting to Play’ board to indicate your “Next in Line Position” for an available court

(i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4thetc).   Move your BTC tag “up” the position ladder as players ahead of you move up.

3.   Please let other players know, that 55 minutes maximum of play time remains. This reserves your spot for next play in (55 minutes or less).

4.   When the next court becomes available (people have left court, removed their BTC tag), you move your tag from the Waiting board to the

Playing Board Court # position and begin play … for 55 minutes.

5.   If you begin playing on a court between the hour and the half hour, you will have to leave the court and check if anyone is waiting before going back on. If someone is

waiting, and there is NO other court available, you will have to get off and let them on at the designated start time.

YOU CANNOT REFUSE TO LEAVE A COURT WHEN SOMEONE HAS BOOKED THE COURT FOR THAT TIME.

6.   Court maintenance requires players to leave the courts during the following approximate times:

      Courts 1-4: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      Courts 5-7: 12:30 pm to1:30 pm and 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

You may be asked to leave at any time if special maintenance is required.  Do not argue with the Grounds staff … just leave the courts when asked. ONLY Grounds

staff should be grooming the courts.

NOTES:

When there is no one waiting to play … play as long as you like. Come to the courts when not busy if possible. Court Availability is posted and kept current on the website.

When there is a group waiting to play … singles or doubles … juniors or adults … the court that has been on the longest must vacate on the hour / half hour.

If there is more than one group waiting (according to the original positions on the Waiting Board) … a second and/or third court must vacate until no court is waiting.

Be respectful of ALL members and their time.

If you encounter anyone in violation of the rules … engage a Grounds person or Executive member if on the premises … else get the name from the BTC tag and report the incident to any Executive member.

DURING YOUR 55 MINUTES OF COURT PLAY … YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE COURT AND MOVE YOUR TAG ONTO THE ‘WAITING BOARD’. THAT CAN ONLY BE DONE WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR BOOKING. YOU CANNOT BE ON THE COURT AND HAVE YOUR TAG ON THE WAITING BOARD AT THE SAME TIME.

YOU MAY ONLY USE YOUR OWN MEMBER TAG. YOU MAY NOT SHARE IT WITH ANY OTHER MEMBER OR NON MEMBER. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR REGISTERED TAG … YOU MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES.

*** ANY MEMBER FOUND IN VIOLATION OF THE BOOKING RULES WILL FACE SUSPENSION FROM PLAY OR CANCELLATION OF THEIR MEMBERSHIP FOR THE BALANCE OF THE SEASON – NO REFUNDS !! ***
